Pop & Dwelling Counts Population & dwelling counts for the 2001 Census are available online for a wide range of standard geographic areas.

Point and click to view tables showing population and dwelling counts from the 2001 Census for standard geographic areas. Many tables provide more than one geographic level for viewing the data. Some tables provide land area, population density and population rank information for the 2001 Census.

2001 Community Profiles2001 Community Profiles contain information for all Canadian communities (cities, towns, villages, Indian Reserves and Settlements, etc.), and for metropolitan areas.




GeoSuiteGeoSuite is a data retrieval and tabular output tool with software and data on a CD-ROM.

GeoSuite allows users to explore the links between all standard levels of geography and to determine geographic codes, names, and population and dwelling counts.


GeoSuiteBoundary files

The Population Ecumene Census Division Boundary File for Canada is a digital product created for use with Geographic Information System software. The product consists of the population ecumene boundary file as well as boundary files for the census divisions and provinces/territories. www.geogratis.gc.ca provides links to software that allows users to view and map the data.


Road Network File, 2005Road Network File, 2005

The Road Network File (RNF), 2005, is the first official release from the 2006 Census Geography suite of products and services. The RNF is a digital representation of Canada's national road network, containing information such as street names, type, direction and address ranges.
