Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) and Census Agglomeration (CA)

CMAs and CAs are large urban areas with adjacent urban and rural areas that are economically and socially integrated.

CAs have an urban core population of at least 10,000. Once a CA attains an urban core population of at least 100,000, it becomes a CMA.
